Finding a good therapist or coach is no easy task, especially online where your options seem as endless as Yelp's dinner recommendations. This search is exhausting, especially when you’re desperately trying to find someone who will get you.
To be vulnerable with a stranger is scary, and I admire you for taking this first step in finding someone.
My aim is to help you alleviate your pain and become more aware of your feelings and patterns of relating to BOTH yourself and to others.
My therapeutic and coaching styles include (but are not limited to); Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, Strength-Based Counseling, Holistic Life Coaching, Brain Health Coaching, and Neuro-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Drawing from these, I use an integrative intervention/treatment approach to understand your life experiences and how they have led you to feeling unhappy, lost, or confused, and ultimately seeking therapy.
Change, even positive change, can be quite difficult at times. Therapy challenges you to sit with uncomfortable emotions, to explore your pain, all in effort to experience life’s exhilarating joys.
I work with adults who are ready to commit to the process of understanding and improving themselves.
I specialize in the treatment of problems across the lifespan, issues with anxiety, depression and relationships.
Most of the work I do involves grief & loss.
Society tends only to recognize death as a loss warranting grief. My understanding of grief is far more encompassing; grief is the emotional response to loss, ANY kind of loss.
This could mean the loss of a relationship, a job, a business, or home; the loss of a feeling, of health, security or safety; the loss of an idea, a dream, or the loss of a part of yourself. All of these experiences often result in feelings of depression, anxiety, or confusion, all worthy of support and exploration.
We will discuss any issues that you are currently looking to work on. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask any additional questions that you may have about me. At the end of the consultation, we will decide what the next step will be with regards to therapy and service linkage.
There is no specific time frame when working on personal development and growth. Depending on the type of changes that you are looking to make and the variety of issues that you are attempting to work on, therapy can last from a few sessions to much longer. Some find therapy to be extremely beneficial and choose to make it a long-term process.
My fee range varies. I will be happy to discuss rates with you during your free consultation appointment.
For clients who cannot afford my full fee, I have a limited number of appointments available at a sliding scale. My sliding scale is determined and decided on a case-by-case basis. My sliding scale is based on financial needs, income, and availability. To apply for my sliding scale please fill out our form here.
Once a week sessions are the standard for individual counseling, though clients are welcome to seek more frequent sessions if they are in crisis or want greater insight.
My approach is not limited to just one method or approach. I tailor your therapy to meet the needs of each client and draw from various therapeutic and coaching styles include (but are not limited to); Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, Strength-Based Counseling, Holistic Life Coaching, Brain Health Coaching, and Neuro-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
